




Joseph Bigler, Director of Orchestra & Choir
Mr. Bigler is in his eighth year of teaching and sixth year as Director of Orchestra & Choir at Palmetto Ridge High School. He directs the Chamber Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, Concert Choir, and Treble Choir. Additionally, he teaches guitar classes at Palmetto Ridge and works as a freelance Visual Tech for Marching Bands across Florida.
Mr. Bigler grew up in Naples, Florida. He graduated from Golden Gate High School in 2013 and earned his Bachelor's in Instrumental Music Education from Stetson University (DeLand, FL) in 2017. Mr. Bigler has taught in all areas of music education, from elementary general music to high school marching bands.
Outside of his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Bigler serves as the Florida Orchestra Association's District 18 Chair and as a member of the Association's Mentoring Committee as a District Liaison. His responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating music performance assessments (MPA) and mentoring, supporting, and representing the voices of the members of District 18 at the state level.
In his free time, Mr. Bigler enjoys spending time with his dogs, Dakota, Bayley, and Luna, going to the movies, watching his favorite sports teams, the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Kings, and Chicago Cubs, and spending quality time with his friends and family.
